I love it when I go to parties and someone finds out what I do for a living and then all of a sudden, they immediately state “please don’t judge me while I eat a donut,” or “how do I gain muscle bro,” or my favorite “how do I lose the belly?”


The first thing I tell them is my world-renowned secret recipe:


MOVE MORE AND EAT LESS!


OK OK OK – I know some of you are going to argue with me as most always have their own opinion. In my 25 years of being in the fitness realm, I’m going to break all your hearts, this secret recipe is the only thing that works! Yes, you may have this or that going on in your body, yes you may have stress beyond belief, yes you may have an illness or bad joints, yes you may have God knows what else, but for the most part, movement and eating in moderation will help in just about every part of your life!


Most individuals have developed habits and coping mechanisms in life that are contrary to having the health they desire. Most of these habits involve food, alcohol and screen watching (t.v., Facebook, Instagram, Netflix). These combinations lead to weight gain and much more.


My job is to help individuals first off understand how they got to this point, develop a plan to get them out and then hold them accountable for their respective plans. It’s really that simple. Yet it is incredibly difficult to sustain and execute daily as we always go back to our old habits if not careful. I too fall victim to this as well.


This is why I require all my clients to move no less then 4 hours weekly, some I require more, and maintain a nutritional log of some sort. Then they must meet with me weekly to get measured and to be held accountable. This magic recipe here at eVOLV is called our Phoenix Method, named after the mythical creature the Phoenix which represents new beginnings.


There is a lot more that goes into this, but I keep things super simple as should you!


Action items:

1. Did you move today? Did you move this week? 4 Hours Minimum.

2. Are you up to date on your nutrition log? Start one today!

3. Find someone to hold you accountable and stick with it!
