Yesterday I Conquer the World...Today I Want to Hide Under a Blanket

Congratulations Andres on your success! Super Proud of You! Pictured above.

Yesterday I felt confident, Today I want to crawl under a blanket and hide!

Yesterday my team and I met all cash flow targets for what is to be a huge weekend expense wise. Today I can’t get anyone to answer my phone call.

Yesterday I received an email with “Congratulations! You have been chosen to speak at the TEDxABQ “Connection!” event July 30, 2022”

Today I can’t seem to find a good piece of good news coming through my e-mail.

Yesterday I had all the vigor in the world to handle every single obstacle in my way.

Today I can’t find the energy to write this blog much less handle the rest of what is to come my way today.

I have found that some days are better than others when it comes to my ability to manage life. It comes in cycles and there are days that are just majestic, and things go my way. Then there are days when things just don’t add up and it seems I have to push hard for everything that I do. The experts say this is normal, but it frustrates the hell out of me. I want every day to be like yesterday!

I know that is unreasonable to expect everyday to be a good day. I also know that tomorrow is a different day, and that sun will come up with or without me. It is my choice to grab onto it or for it to grab onto me.

I love the saying somedays I feel like the hammer and some I feel like the nail! This is so true in life.

Upon deeper reflection though, and I think it true on everyone’s end, when I look at my e-mails, three corporate clients have requested that eVOLV reboot programming after two years of a hiatus. I also find that a couple of calls that I have made have been really positive in regard to the feedback I am getting about our programing. They didn’t go the way I expected of them though – but overall, it was wonderful hearing directly from our clientele. Also, as I write this blog, I am reminded that I have achieved a readership most bloggers would only dream. For all of this I am grateful!

This brings me to my point. No matter what cycle you may be having in regard to a good day/bad day, be grateful for that which you do have and appreciate the small things even if it wasn’t what you expected/wished to happen. A smart man, my father, always told me that expectations are disappointments waiting to happen.

Rise of Phoenix is upon us on in our private group chat boards there is chatter from participants about having second thoughts and getting cold feet. They believe they don’t belong and that they aren’t good enough. My response to them is to “cut their shitake” and “get off their as*” and keep moving forward. Exact words (without the rated G version). I need to heed my own advice too!

Action items:

  1. When things aren’t quite going your way, think of why and try to find value in the experience.

  2. Don’t give up and if needed try something else, then try something else, then try something else then…… you get my point!

  3. Be grateful for that which you do have, not that what you wanted or the expectation of your desired outcome. This will change the entire perspective on your current situation like it did for me while just writing this blog!

This type of outlook will help in your fitness journey as things like Easter with all the chocolate get in your way of your goals! Be grateful for Easter and the ability to celebrate it with your family or friends. Then get back on the wagon and go again.

Speaking of Easter and celebrations, we are celebrating the successes of over 50 individuals this weekend at our 2022 Rise of the Phoenix Fitness Show & Extravaganza. I’d love for you to join us. General admission is all we have left along with a virtual ticket as well. We will live feed it via Zoom on Saturday starting at 7 pm MST. Tickets may be purchased here:

We also have our 28 Days to a Better You program up and running currently. You may find out more about our signature Phoenix Method program here:
