I'm Thankful for You!

I’m Thankful for You!

It was hot Albuquerque day, and my mom called my two brothers, my father and I to the dinner table from doing yard work. As we filed into our small kitchen, we all had our shirts off trying to cool down. My mother be insistent asked my father numerous times to no avail, to put his shirt on in order to eat. My brothers and I seeing the success of my father did not follow my moms’ orders as well. While serving ourselves and beginning to eat, my mother disappeared to the back of our two-bedroom trailer. While guarding my food from my older brothers, my mother came back to the table and out of the corner of my eye I saw something that I never want to see again. My brothers, my father and I all looked up with jaws open and stunned to see her not only without a shirt but bra-less as well. My father was silent, but I tried getting up to leave and she immediately took my shoulder and pushed me down and proceeded to tell the entire family forcefully that if we are going to sit at the table shirtless that she will as well. We were then forced to eat the entire meal with her boobs out and proud. To this day I do not eat with my shirt off.

It is stories like these that I am most thankful for and that I cherish most. It was her unending resolve and bold actions that molded me to the man I am today. It is the principle and character that both her and my father showed me that gave me the fortitude to manage that which I do daily and allows me to help those I serve. For that I am thankful.

Their love has showed me how to love, although not perfect and I’ve made many mistakes in my past, I know they laid the foundation from which I grow. I see this in my own partner as his mother’s love passes through him as well. For that I am thankful.

My team, my friends and my clients teach me every day how to be a better man by showing loyalty and dedication to not only our craft but to our mission at eVOLV! For that I am thankful.

As we reflect over this holiday season be thankful for the good, the bad and the ugly as it is who we are. Focus on the good though and be grateful for the small things in life especially your experiences.

I thank you for never giving up on yourself and for always trying to be better!

Happy Thanksgiving and remember to Start Strong, Stay Strong and Always Stay in Upward Motion and eVOLV Strong!
